Dear Colleagues, Sustaining Firms and Friends:
I hope that everyone has been successful at all those great 2017 resolutions. I was glad to see 2016 over and have looked forward to the start of 2017 so I can have a fresh start on some of my personal and professional goals. I have found several to stretch myself, my company and our Post. Change and the curveballs of life being ever present I have not succeeded yet, but we all have over 86% of the year left to achieve our plans.
I want to thank our new 2017 officers for their willingness to either step up for a new challenge or continue in their service to the Post. I am looking forward to having some more time to focus on our local needs in the coming year. I think that we have a great group of board members who are ready and willing to hear the desires and needs you have for your post so we can better fulfill your expectations.
February being our shortest month is also one of significance. This is the month where in 2017 Arizona turns 105, we celebrate those most special to us personally, we remember some of our Country’s greatest leaders and it marks the month that I start preparing my spring vegetable garden. This year my son started Cub Scouts so the next 10 February’s we will be busy preparing for the Pinewood derby. I am starting some STEM training early with my 8-y old and it is exciting to see him understand aspects of friction and potential energy.
I appreciate all of you that attended our meeting last month. It was great to catch up with Sabrina Smith (Director of Contracting – VA) and her team. It was great to learn about the changes at the VISN and how internally they are managing the boundary change.
Hope you are all planning to visit with us this month and getting excited for our upcoming events discussed in more detail below.

She’ll be speaking during the networking luncheon, which will also serve as our Phoenix Post April monthly meeting. And we’ll receive a technical briefing by an A/E Sustaining Member firm on the latest innovations in 3D modeling.
